Alameda Little League Game Summaries March 10 - March 16

T-Ball and Farm joined the A through Majors divisions with games this week. Nearly 1000 children participate in Alameda Little League. There were 47 games played this past week.

Major Division
Funtime Photo Booth Yankees 3, EPE USA Nationals 8 - March 8
Yankees Ameer Omar pitched three innings, Sean MacKenzie cored the first run of the season, and Aaron Garcia made a great throwdown as catcher to third base. The Nationals played a great game.

Dr. Vicki Wang Orthodontics Twins 7, Seelenbacher Jewelers Red Sox 1 – March 9
Twin Max Nyrop pitched six innings and struck out 10 batters. Sam Silberstein smacked an RBI double, Nyrop had two hits, and KW Quilici scored twice. For the Red Sox, Joe Gibbons struck out 12 batters and singled home Darren Taira, who reached base twice.

Dr. Vicki Wang Orthodontics Twins 17, McGuiness and Northridge Marlins 3 – March 14
KW Quilici struck out 8 batters, homered and drove in 7 runs as the Twins defeated the Marlins. Jacob Morgan and Michael Shih each scored three times for the Twins. For the Marlins, Hadi Shanaa struck out 8 batters and Aeneas Pardo, Diego Ottaviano, and Trace Tega each had a base hit.

Dr. Vicki Wang Orthodontics Twins 1, Funtime Photobooth Yankees 0 – March 15
Max Nyrop went the distance, striking out 13 as the Twins edged the Yankees. AJ Silberstein singled home Jonathan Andrews for the only run of the game. For the Yankees, David Thomas doubled and allowed no hits over the first three innings. Aaron Garcia singled and was a strike-throwing machine the last two innings on the mound.

AAA Division
Dr. Vicki Wang Orthodontics Storm 11, Shooting Stars Mud Hens 10 – March 8
Bowen Sande pitched two scoreless innings for the Storm and, along with Robel Binyam, Teru Khan, and Paul Verdickt, collected two hits each to lead the offense. For the Mud Hens, Patrick Baggett pitched a scoreless inning and Jason Javandel and Eliab Yared both had solid line drive hits to the outfield.

Makman & Matz LLP Rattlers 10, Little House Cafe Stars 1 - March 9
Eli Jones, Luke McCormick, and Jason Cibull combined as pitchers. Caleb Amayo Hassan, Konrad Matz, Scottie Rapposelli, and Ben Garcia all drove in multiple runs for the Rattlers in what was a great team effort. Rahul Sharma scored the Stars' first run of the season, David Costa contributed solid hitting. Dylan Mochizuki pitched well.

Vator Express 6, Dr. Johnson & Dr. Jolley Orthodontics/Anabiosis CPR/First Aid Training Iron Pigs 2 - March 9
Owen DeCourcy broke a 2-2 tie with a clutch RBI hit for the Vator Express, Zach Hayward recorded six strikeouts on the mound, and catcher Mateo Hamilton threw out a runner at second to end the game. Strong pitching for the Iron Pigs from Ryan Chang, Ben Flournoy and Brandon Gross kept the 'Pigs in this close match, as well as stellar outfield play by Luis Licea. Kory Choy was instrumental in plating the Ironpig runs.

Alamo Capital RiverDogs 12, Shooting Stars Mud Hens 7 – March 10
Jacob Goodman led the RiverDogs offense with a sharp RBI single down the right field line and Nathan Kent added an RBI single into center field. On defense, Peyton Fare made a great catch on a sharply hit line drive to left field. CJ Collins and Diego Ortiz each pitched two strong innings. For the Mud Hens, Patrick Bagget pitched 2 scoreless innings and the offense was led by Jessy Lopez who had 2 hits.

Vator Express 19, Little Café Stars 11 - March 12
Justin Blake knocked in three runs for the Express with a triple to left, pitcher Jonathan Schnoebelen had a strong outing with 7 strikeouts, and Nicolas Ignaszewski had an RBI double and a big single to center. Stars Nicholas Bellinger was 2 for 2 with an RBI, David Costa 3 for 3, and Michael Montes got a hit and an RBI. Hector Duarte and Nick Rondenet fielded hard-hit balls.

AA Division
Parker and Sears Orthodontics AA Hot Rods, Scolari's Good Eats Bats 2 – March 11
Hot Rod Wesley Karp went 2-2, drove in one and scored one run. Additionally, Zachary Lachs and Jessie Ramsden stole bases. Jacob Whorley and Turner Wasson had strong pitching efforts with 5 and 4 strike outs respectively. The Bats had sensational pitching from Subby Wolff Urzua and Isaac Yoon. Zac Forster (2B) and Jacey Canalin (C) both had standout defensive performances. At the plate Lucas Holley and Bice Rojo fueled the Bats offensive attack.

Baron's Meat and Poultry Dragons 6, Scolari's Good Eats Bats 4, March 14
Dragon's Shaan Castro pitched 2 scoreless innings. Dayron Ricabal had a RBI triple and Jeevan Mahl pitched two scoreless innings to preserve the Dragons 4-2 win. The Bats had outstanding pitching performances by Ahadu Zemenfes, Aaron Leung and Issac Yoon combining for 14 strikeouts in the game. Offensively the Bats relied on heads up base running by Walker Keating and Joey Fedor and Fionn Meagher for passed ball runs.

Red Onion Rock Hounds 11, Alamo Capital Riverdogs 3, March 15
Rockhounds Tyler Ray racked up three hits and pitched two hitless innings. The defense was bolstered by a terrific throw by Kenji Yee to pick off an attempted steal of third base.The Riverdogs were led on offense by Nathan Kent, who hit a line drive double off the left field fence. On defense, Payton Fare made a great play at third base to throw a runner out at first. Diego Ortiz pitched two scoreless innings, striking out five batters.

A Division

Blue Dot Cafe Volcanoes 10, Parents' Press Mets 9 – March 9
The Volcanoes' Andre Kong went 3-3 while Jake Morgan was 2-2 and turned an unassisted double play at first base. James Witherspoon had a key stop at third base to hold the runners and keep the game within reach. The entire Mets lineup put the ball in play, while Joshua Lafontaine went 2-2 and scored a run. Jeremy Harris led the defense with 2 unassisted putouts and Ryan Nguyen played a great all-around game.

Alameda Elks Lodge 1015 Muckdogs 21, Maureen Shandobil Harbor Bay Raptors 4 - March 11th
The Muckdogs' Cruz Kelly & Jacob Hirano showed their power with two doubles off the fence. David McNamara and Gavin Pryor each made a key defensive stop. The Raptors showed off their hustle on offense led by Sophia Stento and Tyler Ma. Santiago Enanoria turned a double play at first base.

Blue Dot Cafe Volcanoes 19, Alameda Family Dentistry Grasshoppers 18 – March 11
The Volcanoes' Eric Soltero went 2-3 and had an excellent defensive game. Preston DeCourcy hit the game tying 2-run double in the 6th inning. Elliot Cevallos scored the game-winning run from first base on Andre Kong's standup double. The entire Grasshoppers lineup reached base safely. William Hester and William Kelly scored three runs each.

Alameda Collision’ and Repair's Lugnuts 17, Kelly Lux Insurance’s Iron Birds 9 – March 12
Lugnuts Oliver Suer and Jacob Hodges each had two hits and Dylan Watt made a great play at pitcher. For the Iron Birds Edward Gross played solid innings at short stop and at pitcher. Daniel Kinna batted 2-2 and scored his first run of the year.

Alameda Elks Lodge 1015 Muckdogs 16, King of Thai Noodle House TinCaps 10 – March 14
The Muckdogs were led by Matthew Thornton who went 3 for 3. Outfielder Miles Roorda connected with shortstop Austin Hensley for a great defensive play at second. For the TinCaps, Keanu Hennings lead the charge with two doubles. Porter Starnes showed toughness and fought the sun to catch a crucial pop up. Third baseman Antonio Arevalo had two key stops, a hit and scored a run.

Kelly Lux Insurance Ironbirds 13, Parent’s Press Mets 9 – March 15
For the Mets, Blake Friedman and Edison Gould made good defensive plays, while Colin Pero and Jordan Grassman went 3 for 3. For the Ironbirds, Max Martinez and Keegan German had solid hits, while Aryan Panchal and Eddie Gross showed hustle and solid fielding.

Alameda Collision and Repair Lugnuts 12, Blue Dot Café Volcanoes 31 – March 15
For the Lugnuts, Elijah Lee went 3 for 3 with two doubles and Jonah Abrami chipped in two hits. Leo Paredes recorded an unassisted double play in the field. The Volcanoes put together a solid team effort with every player contributing at least two hits and two RBI. Preston DeCourcy, Finian Depew, Jack Hume, Sam Paskins and William Thompson had five hits each.

Claremont Behavioral Services Owlz 4 - King of Thai Noodle House Tincaps 3 - March 16
Tincaps Gaelen Dudley hit one double and two singles. Marcus Finch hit a double to bring in a run and showed great defense at first base. Turner Smith made two important defensive outs and hit two singles. Owlz Eli Slez hit a single for a RBI. Max Olsen made a good assist at first and Josh Howard hit two singles and produced the winning RBI in the last inning. Mateo Delgado, Will Roizen and Zachary Patterson-Golay also collected a single hit each.

Farm Division
Sports Authority Red Sox, Dr. William Paden’s Athletics – March 16
Red Sox Zachary Akers-Turner went 2 for 2 at the plate and drove in 2 runs. Alexander Kientz's play at short stop resulted in an out and Marco Puertas knocked down a line-drive and made the play at 1st. For the A's, Alijah Meadows hit a double to left field bringing in one run. Bodhi Tarrant-Weber made an unassisted out at 3rd and 1st.

TMS Automotive Yankees vs Guaranteed Orioles - March 16
Yankees Logan Lee and Mikey Baum scored in the first inning. Grayson Nguyen made an excellent defensive play at third. In the 4th, Ethan Low was safe at first. For the Orioles, Kandan Saheba, Christopher Cravalho, Damian Senna and Jet Chan had a strong showing with two hits each. Both Grant Tomono and Hunter Willett made multiple great plays at third.

Central Plumbing D'backs, Advisory Consulting Rockies – March 16
D'backs Jayven Franklin went 2 for 2 with a big fly. Giovanni Aguirre hit a double and made a nice catch and tag at the plate. For the Rockies Kevin Schultz threw out runners from both P & SS. Wallace Ruan & Will Jensen each had a couple of hits.

T-Ball Division

Bladium Crossfit Braves/Cerda-Zen Real Estate Cubs (T-Ball) – March 16
For the Braves, Mason Daon, Aubrie Grimes, Kathan Tran, and Niko Quale cleared the bases to close out their four innings at the plate. For the Cubs, Gavin Certa-Zein, Xander Chooey-Chea, Aiden Kwan, and Jaden Noonan also cleared the bases to finish off their frames.
