Alameda Little League Game Summaries March 24 - March 30

Major Division

Seelenbacher Jewelers Red Sox 4, Pappo Athletic's 2 – March 23

Fantastic hit by Red Sox Jackson Saulovich with a triple and an RBI. Tomas Dumont had a great hit to center and stole 2nd base. For the Athletics Jackson Rodriguez hit a great triple to left center.  Leo Miranda had a nice single to center and Zach Hester threw out  two runners stealing.

Dr. Johnson & Dr. Jolley Orthodontics/Anabiosis CPR/First Aid Training AAA Iron Pigs 18, Richmond AAA Athletics 0 – March 27

Iron Pig pitchers Ryan Chang, Luis Licea, Kyle Spaulding and Brandon Gross combined for a shut-out of Richmond's AAA team.  The entire squad hit well and was lead by deep blasts off the bats of Jacob McNamee, Ben Flournoy, Justin Walker, Kory Choy and others. The Richmond Athletics maintained their focus during the game and came close in several attempts to score.

Dr. Vicki Wang Orthodontics 7, Jim Bustos Plumbing Dodgers 1 – March 28

For the Twins, Sophie Nilsson doubled, scored twice, and made a key play at shortstop.  Kyle Arndt and Michael Shih each reached base twice. For the Dodgers, Derek Balaian doubled then scored, Ryan Floyd made a great catch in left field.

 

AAA Division

 

Little House Cafe Stars 12, Alameda Pediatric Dentistry Fightin' Phils 8 – March 21

For the Stars, Eugene Gardner had a two-run homer, while Landon Marsh hit a triple and pitched two shut-out innings for the win. For the Phils, Thomas Cooke homered and drove in two runs.  Teddy Hernandez pitched a solid three innings and had two hits.  JP Chiu also had two hits including a double.

 

Vator Express 5, Jodi Snyder, Psy.D.Threshers 2 - March 22
For the Express, Damon Lang made a great throw from right to catch a runner out at second. Henry Pace, Tanner Roizen and Zach Hayward all had strong outings on the mound. The Threshers played a great game.

 

AA Division

 

Jack's Bar & Restaurant Thunder 5, Baron's Meat & Poultry Dragons 2 - March 22

Thunder's Kai Shimp got 2 put-outs and hit a line-drive single. Daniel Velichko pitched a shutout inning with 11 pitches. Daniel worked with Liam Sullivan for tag out at third. Junior Perez, as catcher, tagged runner at home. For the Dragons Evan Green had two doubles and three straight Ks and struck out three. Lee John Majerus play at third held the Thunder scoreless one inning and stole home. Diego Palacios' fielding at 2nd saved runs.

 

Scolari's Good Eats Bats 9,  Alameda Therater Bulls 14 – March 22

The Bats Walker Keating hit an RBI double. Fionn Meagher and Bice Rojo hit RBI singles.  Joey Fedor played well defensively.  Subby Wolff-Urzua pitched exceptionally well. For the Bulls Nathan King, Ryan Hand and David Gibbs doubled.  Key defensive plays were made by Rex Weber, James Hardy and Maurcio Rosales. 

 

Alamo Capital Riverdogs 9, Baron’s Meat and Poultry Dragons 8 – March 24

For the Alamo Capital Riverdogs, Ethan Wasserman had a big hit and Jacob Goodman played great defense. Diego Ortiz pitched well for the win. Dragons? Shaan Castro walked twice, stole home twice, and pitched two innings. Anthony Jones turned a 5-4 putout to keep the game close.

Scolari's Good Eats Bats 19, Jack's Restaurant and Bar Thunder 4 - March 27

Bats pitchers Joey Fedor, Ahadu Zemenfes, Aaron Leung and Subby Wolff Urzua combined for eight strikeouts. Offensively, Isaac Yoon had a single and a double. For the Thunder Landon Gee hit 3-3 with an RBI, and Daniel Velichko had a 2-RBI single. Nico Araujo had four strikeouts. Sanjay Cordova controlled the action behind the plate.

 

A Division

 

King of Thai Noodle House Tincaps 5, Alameda Family Dentistry Grasshoppers 24 – March 22

For the Tincaps, catcher Jack Carlisle had 3 hits.  Porter Starnes showed excellent fielding and hit a double.  Gaelen Dudley, Archer Hilsabeck, Luca Danzi and Ryan Wiley all hit 2 singles.  For the Grasshoppers, Pierce Lapachet and Damarius Gates hit 3 singles. William Kelly and Cyrus Jones doubled. Micah Rezendez turned two unassisted double plays and a third double play with William Hester.

 

Farm Division

 

Sports Authority Red Sox vs. YoJimbo Sushi Marlins – March 23

For the Red Sox, Aidan Sloan went 2 for 2 at the plate and drove in a run. Tyler Ichihara assisted in 2 outs at first base and Ian Love made a great play at 3rd. For the Marlins, leadoff hitter JJ Barbey contributed two singles to start off Marlin rallies. William Keys made some strong defensive plays at catcher.

 

Alameda Collision & Repair Giants vs. Guaranteed Rate Orioles - March 23

For the Orioles, Evan Furuichi hammered a pitch in the 4th, bringing in two runs. Christian DeGuzman and Alexander Htoo each scored two runs. Julius Cenidoza showed great hustle in the outfield. Giants Lana Schullstrom had two base hits while Amaru Guerra played great defense on first base. Bryson Edwards made an out at first and third bases.

 

Dragon Rouge Tigers vs. Ocean's Halo Twins - March 23

Tiger Maxwell Stuart made three put outs and Oskar Jones who hit a solid drive into the outfield. Kieran Murray made an unassisted put out at second base.  For theTwins Zachary Pippen at shortstop and Jackson Wattley on the mound showed great glovework. Sammy Lovering and Daniel Pell had two hits apiece.

 

T-Ball Division

 

Bladium Crossfit Braves, The Alameda Fix It Guy Pirates – March 23

For the Braves, Sullivan Glick, Emilia Puertas, Olivia Dupree and Zorana Pieda led the offense with multiple hits and RBIs.  For Pirates Gage Boggan hit a ball up the right field line. Austin Britton made an awesome play at first base. Tristan Portolese had a base hit. Pitcher Pierson Burke made a nice catch and throw to first. Pitcher Connor Kniep threw the ball into home to end the inning.

 

Litho Process A's, Torrey Pines Bank Cardinals – March 23

For the Litho Process A's, Hayden Strickland cleanly fielded a ground ball at first and alertly beat the runner to the bag.  Katie McKean scooped up a shot to right center and fired to first base.  Jesse Lee, William Su, and Maya Quilici each blasted base hits well into the outfield. The Cardinals played a great game.
