Alameda Little League Games to April 29

A full slate of games were played this week.

MAJORS

Eyewise Optometry Athletics 6, David Hung Medivation Devil Rays 1

On 4/21/12 the Athletics had strong pitching from Willie Mein and Eric Fong.  Sandeep Mahl had a hit and 3 RBIs. Ameer Omar had a hit and an RBI. Mahl, Max Turner and Jackson Ball had sharp infield defense.

For the Devil Rays, Charlie Konstantino had a single and a RBI. Konstantino, Chris Reegan and Noah Gonzalez had stellar defensive plays.

The A’s Eric Fong, Sandeep Mahl and Ryan Finer each had a pair of hits on 4/24. Tairen Parker smacked a triple and had a RBI.

The Astros' Tristan Wiley and Jordan Kim had doubles and Bryce Bromberger smashed a triple.

ClaremontBehavioral Services Giants 4, Eyewise Optometry Athletics 3

The Giants were solid on defense and had strong pitching from Jason Rivetti on April 29. Jake Gibbons had a double and 2 RBIs. Liam Lonergan had a nice single. 

The A’s Willie Mein started the game off with a solo shot over the fence. Andrew Broz had a single with an RBI.

AAA DIVISION

Bladium River Bandits 16, Pappo Mudcats 9

On 4/14, Jackson Barnes doubled in the 3rd, bringing in 1 RBI. Jonathan Andrews doubled and RBI'd two runs in the 4th for the Mudcats.

For the River Bandits, in the 4th inning Ryan Floyd and Alex Robles each brought in a run and A.J. Ramsey hit a 3-run triple

Litho Process Printing Hooks 14, Thirsty Bear Brewing Company Redwings 4

The Hooks outlasted the Redwings on April 18 led by the strong hitting of Parker Lincoln and Jackson Elliott.  Max Nyrop and KW Quillici each helped the cause with great pitching and key hits.  

The Redwings fought hard with strong offense from Gabe Seidl and Jackson Rodriguez, while A.J. Silberstein made long accurate throws in from center field.

Thirsty Bear Brewing Company Redwings 6, Bladium River Bandits 5

River Bandits pitcher Zack Karch struck out 8 in three innings and also hit a single and a double on April 21. Jarod Cheung and A.J. Ransey had two hits each for the River Bandits.

The Redwings had solid pitching from Ari Burrows and Spencer Kao. Liam Johnson-Sandoval struck out the side with bases loaded and 2 outs. Danny Keep played stellar defense and a key hit during the 3rd inning.

D20 Rivercats 4, Pappo Mudcats 3

On 4/21/12, the Mudcats’ Jackson Barnes doubled in the 4th, RBI'ing his teammate Darren Taira. Ezra Hammond smacked a single, bringing in 2 runs in the 5th.  

For the Rivercats, Oscar Knox White hit two doubles. Connor Sparks and Nicholas Demmler hit RBI singles. Griffin Calibach scored by stealing home and as third baseman threw out a batter at first base.

Sinead Smyth, L.M.F.T. Bees 3, Litho Process Hooks 9

For the Bees, Dallas Rider led the offense with a triple and RBI on April 21.  Anthony Silva caught a pop fly to center. Hadi Shanna pitched and also caught a fly ball.

For the Hooks, KW Quilici and Max Nyrop pitched, striking out 14 and allowing only 3 runs. Elias Faizi hit a 2-RBI double in the first inning. Brian Belt caught a fly ball deep in center field. Belt and Neil Donovan each reached base in all three at-bats.

Sinead Smyth, L.M.F.T. Bees 15, El Agavero Stars 8

Hadi Shanaa pitched and covered home for the Bees to make the final out in the 3rd inning on April 23. Andrew Tandoc tripled. Kobe Kiener, Qorey Houson-Cecaci and Anthony Silva each hit to get on base.

For the Stars, Chris Caldwell had a big day on the bases, scoring 3 runs. Elian and Elexsio Pelayo were both able to get 3 outs on the mound and Jac Hernandez had a 2 RBI hit late in the game.

Feelgood Bakery Iron Pigs 10, Pappo Mudcats 2

On April 23, the Mudcats' Ethan Karp struck out 3 in the 3rd. Anthony Anderson almost homered in the 6th, scoring 1, before getting tagged at 3rd by Pigs defense, catcher Torin Martin. 

For the Iron Pigs, James Kapp, and Nate Whittaker had strong hitting. Jake Emerson recorded a putout at third base.

Litho Process Hooks 0, Big O Tires Pawsox 7

On April 25, fighting valiantly for the Hooks, Parker Lincoln ripped a line drive to center field for a single, and Neil Donovan smacked one to right field. On defense, Donovan pitched a scoreless 6th inning and Arvin Enkhbold caught a fly ball deep in right field.

The Pawsox dominated with strong pitching and hitting. Jake Avellar pitched 3 scoreless innings. David Thomas doubled in the 2nd inning. Dylan Yee hit a triple in the 2nd inning.

Thirsty Bear Redwings 2, D20 Games River Cats 3

For the Redwings, Brandon Wong had his first outing as pitcher and allowed only 2 runs over 3 innings on April 25. The offense was propelled by solid hits from A.J. Silberstein, Danny Keep and Edgar Duchesneau.

For the Rivercats, Nicholas Demmler had an RBI hit, putting them up on the scoreboard, and scored a run. Pitcher Connor Sparks caught out a batter on a foul ball and, along with teammate Oscar Knox White, pitched a scoreless inning.

Litho Process Hooks 19, Bladium River Bandits 4

Scott Kelly's triple to deep center highlighted the Hooks' offense. Kelly, Max Nyrop and Neil Donovan had 4 RBIs apiece on April 27. Max Davis, Parker Lincoln and Elias Faizi also had multiple-hit games. Hooks' pitching was steady, walking only three batters.

Danny Petersen, Jarod Cheung and Davis Stewart had two hits each for the River Bandits and Matthew Dalton added a 6th inning RBI single.

Big O Tires Pawsox 10, D20 Rivercats 10

For the Rivercats, Matthew Goode, did some aggressive base running to score a run. Nicholas Demmler hit a triple and Michael Waldman scored three on April 28.

Dylan Yee scored first for the Pawsox in the the 2nd. Jake Avellar pitched 3 innings, giving up only 2 runs. Harrison Rogers had 3 RBI in the bottom of the 4th.

AA DIVISION

Thunder 11, TEC Electric and Orthodontic Dental Care Mudhens 10

The Thunder received strong pitching from Sam Davis, Evan Hesse, Austin Novoa and Nate Stackler to keep the game close on April 21. Thunder batters Brandon Gross, Malachi Francois and Harrison Bell led the offense.

For the Mudhens, Ben Villanueva hit a double, stole third base and then stole home. Daniel Wolfe batted in two runs and caught a fly ball, while Dylan Manabat hit a double. Michael Shih struck out six for the Hens.

Bowzers Pizza Rock Hounds 16, T.E.C Electric and Orthodontic Dental Care MudHens 7

The Rock Hounds offense on April 24 was led by Michael Proffitt, who was 3-3 with 6 RBIs, and Paul Nguyen had 2 RBIs. In the field, Chet Lim had two great back-to-back fielding plays, while Adam Hoepker made major league plays at third and shortstop and pitched a solid inning.

For the Mudhens, Declan Howard slammed a double to drive in two runs.  Michael Shih hit a double and two singles and threw five strike-outs. Ellis Brandt tagged out a runner at the plate.

MXL Commercial Construction Bats 3, East Ocean Storm 1

In a low-scoring pitching duel, the Bats prevailed over the Storm 3-1. For the Bats, pitchers Griff and Joe Loughran, Lukas Mann and Jacob Price excelled on the mound and Sayge Morenz and Jacob Price hit key RBIs on April 28.

For the Storm, Miles Smith, Harry Gleicher, and Justin Leung pitched well to keep the score close, while Dante Pardo doubled to knock in the Storm's only run.

A DIVISION

UPS Store #0447 (Bay Farm) Owlz 6, Roughing It Day Camp Volcanoes 7

Lucas Holley had a single and crossed the plate for a key run in the sixth for the Volcanoes on April 24. Lee-John Majerus made solid contact with the ball in a strong at-bat.

Owlz player Cody Cunningham hit a ground rule double and combined with his brother Gordon for a put out at first. Jaden Jamula hit a double deep into left. Jacob Skuta caught a fly ball while playing second base.

Stem to Stern Scrappers 8, Dobb’s Ferry Sand Gnats 14

Scrappers players Leo McMahon had 4 RBIs and Scottie Raposseli went three for three on April 25. Kolia Krajewski contributed with some great plays on defense.

For the Sand Gnats, Tommy Igo went three for three and James Glaviano and Adam Satin teamed up for a double play.

FARM DIVISION

Alamo Capital Yankees vs. West Wind Athletics

Yankee player Henry Weichhart made two good outs – a bang-bang play at first and a put out at third on April 22. Will Norton, Jason Javandel and Gabe Jardin hit solid line drives up the middle.

The A’s also had an impressive barrage of hits by Elliott Cevallos, Mick Goddard, Ben Webster, Hudson Taylor and others. Angus Olaes had an out at first base and Dylan Watt made the out at second.

West Wind Athletics vs. Littler Mendelson Diamond Backs

Ben Webster of the A’s had a stellar game on April 29, making two outs at third base and hitting a line drive deep into the outfield. Other key plays came from Angus Olaes, who made the out at first, and Mick Goddard, Hudson Taylor and McKinley Elter, all of whom advanced with strong hits.

For the DBacks, in the top of the second Mason Gunnell hit a line drive up the third base line. Sam Kohler hit an RBI single in the top of the second. In the third inning Sam Paskins hit a line drive RBI down the third base line.

SuperCuts Indians vs. Shay's Cafe Angels

Defensively, the Indians’ Miranda Massie had a great play as the shortstop, and Cole Aney made three outs at first base in one inning on April 29. Batters Zackary Williams and Ja'dan Bowman both had solid hits to the outfield. All-around strong play by Tobin Deaker and Emmett Kotapish.

For the Angels, Shaan Castro, Scanlan Derrick and Miles Murphy led the offense with solid hits and RBIs. Defensively, the Angels had 2 assists and 7 put-outs. Matthew Tarvin had four assists and turned an unassisted double play.

T-BALL DIVISION

Dr. William Paden Dodgers vs. Happy Feet Children's Shoes Giants

Sluggers Zac Struthers and Jackson Wattley had their first RBIs and there was great defense by Kyle Nguyen and Logan Thornton on April 22 for the Dodgers.

For the Giants,  Dominic Deligato and Liam Smusz singled in the 2nd and both scored from big hits by Coleman Crotty and Quincy Diamond. Eliot Mack and Peter Daley showed good gloves on defense with put-outs at first base.

El Caballo Wraps Mets vs. Frutti Yoggi Tigers

Outfielder Ian Love made a great stop and threw to first base in the top of the first inning on April 22. The Mets displayed some nice hitting in the bottom of the second inning, with Madden Le leading off, Sophia Stento hitting a grounder into the outfield and Nicholas Wills hitting to shortstop to bring everyone home.  

The bats were swinging again for the Tigers, with smashes by Cheyenne Caina, Alexander Kientz and Adam Sligh. The defense held strong with great fielding by Logan Thomas, Isaiah Dumont, Boston Williams and Aidan Bencik.

Dr. William Paden Dodgers vs. Patterson-Golay Family Braves

The Dodgers had some exciting plays April 29. Will Jensen hit a line drive and Joe-Joe Daniels had a great pop-up. Pitcher Joshua Manzur and catcher Logan Thornton showed great teamwork. 

For the Braves, Tommy Going made a solo put-out at first, and caught a nice toss from pitcher Archie Hilsabeck for another. Peyton Cheung made three plays at first and threw into home on the last batter.  Lucas Glaviano was speedy on the bases, and Ian Shaw showed power at the plate.

Frutti Yogi Tigers vs. Baskin Robbins Cardinals

Cardinals pitcher Christopher Bellinger stopped the ball multiple times, throwing to the bases on April 29. Turner Brotze made several stops at 3rd base, tagging the runners. Zachary Dortch, Finn Cavanaugh and Jaren Beene all hit line drives.

For the Tigers, great fielding was done by Teva Risse and Ryan Wiley. Kaleb Westbrook was a great glove at first base and Michael Dudzinski made a great tag at home plate. Grey Pipkin, Alexander Kientz, and Logan Thomas all hit well. Dumont hit a smash to the outfield to clear the bases in the third.

El Caballo Wraps Mets vs. Happy Feet Children's Shoes Giants

On April 29, Mets Sophia Stento and Tyler Ichihara both had solid hits into the infield, and showed their speed to beat the Giants’ throws to first base. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Mauricio Rocha-Chavez quickly fielded the ball at shortstop and threw to Patrick DiGioacchino at first base.

For the Giants, Jack Johnson, Thomas Shreiner and Jacob Hodges singled and scored in the first. On defense, multiple put-outs were recorded between Dominic Deligato at 3rd base and Coleman Crotty at 1st.
