Alameda School Board Elections: Who's In, Who's Not

Voters will be choosing three Alameda Board of Education members.

Voters will be selecting three Alameda Board of Education members in the November 2012 election. The terms of school board members Ron Mooney, Trish Herrera Spencer and Niel Tam expire in December 2012. All three incumbents with expiring terms have taken out candidacy papers, as have three challengers so far (as of July 20).

The filing period for Alameda Board of Education seats opened July 16, 2012. Candidates have through Aug. 10 to turn in nomination papers. Filing for Alameda Unified School District offices takes place through the Alameda County Registrar of Voters.
