Wow, what a scene in Petaluma Sunday. The whole city was pasted with patriotic bunting, yellow "West" T-shirts and huge smiles.
It was the celebration for the Petaluma National Little Leaguers, who took third place at the recent Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. Thousands turned out at Walnut Park, the epicenter of the town bash.
Amid a windstorm of confetti, each player rode in a vintage car on a loop through the downtown area and ended up at the park, where officials from the City of Petaluma, the state Legislature and the Little League gave three cheers to the young stars. Mayor David Glass presented the team with the key to the city as well.
