City Announces Tennis Tournament Winners

This year marked the 100th anniversary of the tournament.

From a City of Alameda press release:

The 100th Annual City of Alameda Tennis Tournament — the longest active running program — took place last weekend, Sept. 7 and 8, at the Fairfield Tennis Courts at Washington Park. The weather was ideal for some great tennis matches on the island.

The results are:

Men’s Singles 3.5 or below – Omar Ted Panugaling defeated Edgar Setton in the finale 6-0, 6-1 Men’s Singles 4.0-4.5 - Bryan Cardenas defeated Luis Hernandez in the finale 6-3, 6-1

Men’s Doubles 3.5 or below – Paul Nguyen and John Nguyen won the round robin tournament

Men’s Doubles 4.0-4.5 – Bryan Cardenas and Alfred Feria won the round robin tournament

Congratulations to the champions and all the tennis participants in this year’s 100th  tournament. Look forward to next year’s 101st Annual City of Alameda Tennis Tournament in September of 2014.
