Alameda Backyard Growers Monthly Meeting: "Everything You Wanted to Know About Lead in Your Soil, But Were Afraid to Ask"

Steve Calanog with the US Environmental Protection Agency will address common questions about lead in soil, including:

* How did lead get in our soil?
* What levels do we need to worry about?
* What’s the health risk?
* Is it safe to plant a garden if there’s lead in my soil?

Alameda Backyard Growers meets monthly from 6:00 – 7:00 PM on second Thursdays at High Street Station (1303 High Street at Encinal). ABG membership and events are free and open to all residents of Alameda and the surrounding area.

Monthly meetings are also a great time to drop off fruit and vegetable donations for the Alameda Food Bank. If you have a bit of extra garden produce to share with folks who are struggling to make ends meet, please bring it to a monthly meeting and we will make sure it gets to the food bank the next day. Every little bit counts and is used and appreciated!
