Alameda Backyard Growers Monthly Meeting: "Preparing for the Winter Garden"

Winter gardens can be sleepy and quiet or surprisingly beautiful and active. Alameda County Master Gardener Birgitt Evans will will offer tips on how to prepare your garden for winter and ways you can extend your growing season. Topics will include late fall planting, extending your season with row covers, mulching your garden and enriching your soil through the use of cover crops.

ABG meetings are held monthly on second Tuesdays and are open to the entire community. Monthly meetings offer gardeners of all experience levels an opportunity to talk about what's growing in their gardens and exchange gardening tips. Meetings are also a great time to drop off fruit and vegetable donations for the Alameda Food Bank.
