Instrutor Sumido (Sam Batchelder)I have been training capoeira since 1999 as a student of Mestre Marcelo Pereira,
founder of Capoeira Mandinga.
I have been teaching capoeira for kids & adults throughout Alameda since 2004.
We work to create an enjoyable environment to introduce the capoeira world to children and adults alike. Our teaching philosophy encourages active interaction between instructor and student in a playful & respectful manner. Adults are encouraged to develop the basic moves of capoeira at a pace they feel is comfortable for their body while steadily finding new challenges to go beyond one's perceived limitations. During kid's classes, recreational and creative principles are introduced through a variety of fun kids games where the elements of capoeira are incorporated. Through connecting this process to having fun, children learn many important skills including discipline, self confidence and respect. Capoeira in Alameda is growing fast and I would like to invite you to see how much fun capoeira can be for your self!
