Elks National Free Throw Contest - HOOP SHOOT

The Elks National Free Throw Contest - HOOP SHOOT runs through Dec. 17.

Hoop Shoot is run in conjunction with the Alameda Recreation & Park Department. Sign up at Franklin, Leydecker, Lincoln, Littlejohn, Longfellow, Tillman, Krusi, McKinley and Woodstock Parks between 3–5 p.m. Mon.–Fri. Entry limited to once per day, but you can enter as often as you like. 

Participants are divided into three divisions: Class A– 12 & 13 year olds, open to youth who do not reach their 14th birthday before April 1, 2011; Class B– 10 & 11 year olds, open to youth who do not reach their 12th birthday before April 1, 2011; Class C– 8 & 9 year olds, open to youth who do not reach their 10th birthday before April 1, 2011. Seven year olds who reach their 8th birthday before April 1, 2011, are also eligible in this category.

The top three finalists in each division are eligible to represent their park or club at the citywide finals on Jan. 7, 2011.  The winners in each division will go on to represent the Alameda ELKS Lodge and the City of Alameda at the District Shoot Off in San Mateo on Jan. 15, 2011.
