Family Cycling and How to Ride a Bike Workshops

Safety is the foundation to fun.
Safe road bicycling takes a lot more than balance, a helmet and a good attitude.

Join BikeAlameda and the East Bay Bicycle Coalition  instructors for a day of fun games, safety drills, skills building, and a neighborhood ride. This workshop is for kids able to ride a bike and who are ready to ride on the roadways with their parents.

We'll also be conducting a how to ride a clinic for kids ready learn to ride without training wheels.

Parents and kids must attend together with helmets and bring their own bikes. Each child receives a free red blinky light for participating!

Meet us on the blacktop behind Otis school!

Parents should pre-register themselves and their children at http://www.ebbc.org/safety. Parents must accompany their children throughout the workshop and provide working bicycles and helmets for every rider (or rider-to-be) in the family. You may want to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, layered clothing for movement and activity, and perhaps your child's favorite snacks.

Registration is closed for Sunday's Family Cycling Workshop, as it is full. (I checked last night at www.ebbc.org/safety.) Thanks in advance to all the volunteers and attendees who will make this workshop a success on Sunday...Perhaps BikeAlameda and EBBC need to schedule more of these?
