A free bike education program for middle and high school students followed by a memorial ride for Brandon Sorensen will take place on Sunday, November 6. The teen bike ed class will be from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.and the Brandon Sorensen Memorial Ride (open to everyone) will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Lincoln Middle School.

This event was made possible by a generous Alameda resident in memory of Brandon Sorensen. BikeAlameda will lead and organize the bike ride and the East Bay Bicycle Coalition will provide the website with event information, registration and instructors.

Cyclists who come on the memorial ride (3:30-4:30 PM) will need working front and rear lights to be safe after dark. Daylight Savings Time ends at 2 AM that Sunday (November 6) so night will fall much earlier: sunset is at 5:07 PM. Wearing reflective or bright-colored clothing is also a good idea for any late-afternoon or evening ride.
