Alameda Backyard Growers Meeting: "My Subversive (Garden) Plot" Film & ABG Two-Year Anniversary Celebration

A vegetable garden can do more than save you money - it can save the world according to Roger Doiron, founder of Kitchen Gardeners International, a network of 20,000 home gardeners in 100 countries. In his 20 minute TEDx talk "My Subversive (Garden) Plot", Roger shows how gardens can relocalize our food and feed our growing population. Come watch this inspirational short film with your fellow gardeners and celebrate Alameda Backyard Growers' two-year anniversary with a yummy cake from Feel Good Bakery. Also, tomato seedlings started by Master Gardener Birgitt Evans will be available for a small donation to benefit ABG's operations fund.

Monthly meetings are also a great time to drop off fruit and vegetable donations from your garden for the Alameda Food Bank. We deliver members' produce to the food bank the following morning where it is typically distributed to food bank clients within 24 hours.
