Alameda’s Little Ice Rink, made possible by the Perforce Foundation, will welcome a big visitor on Disco Ice Day on Friday, January 20th at 8 pm. Bay Area-born figure skating Olympian Brian Boitano will be the guest of honor at the rink. In keeping with the 70s theme, at 8pm Boitano will judge two contests, a disco dance contest and a disco costume contest. Prizes will include delicious eats from The Little House Café. There will be food and entertainment off the rink throughout the afternoon and evening.

After January 29th, the ice will be liquidated – along with ticket prices in the final days! “Ice rink attendance has been fantastic. The Perforce Foundation has never sponsored a community event, so we weren't sure what to expect. I'd say we've had roughly 6,000 visitors and people are loving the chance to skate outdoors,” said Carrie Ewing, vice president of operations for Perforce, a global company founded 15 years ago in Alameda.

The charming seasonal rink, a first in Alameda history, is at the corner of Park and Tilden Way. Tickets are $10 for children up to 12 years old and $15 for age 13 and up. Skate rentals are available onsite, or bring your own skates to get a discount. Groups of 10 or more get 10% off when paying by credit card. The rink is open until January 29th and the weather has been beautiful for skating!
