Skilly Circus for Homeschoolers

Circus arts provide a fantastic opportunity to explore movement and performing arts while offering an alternative to traditional sports and PE. Skilly Circus classes focus on introduction and ongoing development of a variety of circus skills, culminating in a presentation at the end of the session. Each class begins with a fun warm-up, stretching, and a basic exploration of tumbling/acrobatics before moving on to using the equipment. Age-appropriate skills include juggling and other skill toy manipulation, rola bola, stilts, tumbling, acro-balance, clowning, and methods for combining skills. Focus is on learning and progressing in all circus skills through creative games, group activities, and independent play. Older students will receive goal-setting workbooks to encourage goal-setting and track progress. Parents are occasionally invited to join the class at no extra charge. Classes are offered through the Connecting Waters Charter School and all other Homeschoolers and Unschoolers are welcome! Enrollment is ongoing and no experience is necessary. Mondays ages 5-7, Wednesdays ages 7 & up. More info, videos, and registration at www.SkillyCircus.com.
