Oct. 30 Game Report from Alameda Soccer Club

Game reports submitted by Ginger Conrad for the Alameda Soccer Club.

Oct. 13 game:

ASC Destroyers capture their first win with a sterling effort against the well matched Titans of Montclair. Antonio Roblero notched his first goal to start the scoring. Griffin Calibach notched the second goal that proved to be the difference maker. Orion Ho anchored a fine defensive effort with able help from the likes of Matthew Pustelnik and Jameson Hoy. In the second half, the Destroyers continued their offensive pressure, with Leo Miranda coming close with several attempts, including a couple off the frame. And despite conceding a goal, the team held on for the victory.

Oct. 20 game:

The ASC Destroyers turned in another fierce performance when they tested themselves against the Piedmont Boca Juniors. Playing without several of their key players, with only one sub on the bench, they kept the Juniors back on their heels all day. Jabaar Baloch and Jameson Hoy took turns pressuring the opposing defense, which led to Ethan Kha's goal off a fine bit of ball work between Hoy and Orion Ho. The Destroyers continued to hold that edge until conceding the tying goal in the last minute of the game. All around, a gutsy performance from a rapidly improving team!

Oct. 27 game:

The power of a duct tape numbered spare jersey allowed recently injured Griffin Calibach to rejoin the Destroyers right before the second half and score first goal against the aggressive Los Amigos.  After an Amigio's goal (1-1), Spenser Kao lead the defense against an overwhelming set of attacks. A spectacular penalty kick goal by Ramit Guba was answered by the Amgios leaving the score tied at 2. A break away run and cross shot by Calibach scored his 2nd (and game winning) goal.
