Pearl Places Second in Far West League

The nail-biting championship game Sunday ended with an 11th inning tie-breaker by the Humboldt Crabs. Follow along in tweets from the game.

Alameda's Neptune Beach Pearl summer league baseball team finished second in the Far West League when the Humboldt Crabs won the championship game in the bottom of the 11th inning.

11:15 a.m. Watkins fly out to right, Pearl scoreless in the Top of the 1st, Crabs coming to bat

11:29 a.m. Crabs get on the board first with a 2run double to take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st

11:31 a.m. Pearl get out of a jam and at the end of the 1st: Crabs 2 Pearl 0

11:42 a.m. Pearl leave 2 runners on in the Top of the 2nd, Crabs 2 Pearl 0

11:46 a.m. Crabs retired in order in the 2nd: End of 2nd: Crabs 2 Pearl 0

11:54 a.m. Pearl strand 2 base hits to start the 3rd & trail the Crabs 2-0 heading to the Bottom of 3rd

1:36 p.m. Monagle gets the Pearl out of the inning and going to the 9th we are tied at 3-3

1:39 p.m. Top of the order in the 9th for the Pearl, Moroney, Williamson, Watkins

1:42 p.m. Pearl retired in order in the 9th, Crabs coming to bat tied 3-3

1:51 p.m. Monagle retires the side in order in the 9th: to extra innings we go tied 3-3 in the @fwlsummerball championship

1:52 p.m. Creamer, Cruikshank, Bass due up in the top of the 10th

2:06 p.m. Pearl held scoreless in the 10th, going into the bottom of the 10th still tied 3-3

2:24 p.m. Crabs strand a runner at 2nd and we are headed to the 11th tied 3-3

2:25 p.m. Pearl held scoreless again in the 11th and we are going to the bottom of the 11th still tied 3-3

2:35 p.m. The Crabs win 4-3 on a walk off squeeze bunt in the bottom of the 11th to win the 2012 Far West League Championship

2:38 p.m. The Pearl finish the 2012 season with a 33-19 record and a 2nd place finish in the Far West League
