Alameda Bartender Shakes Up the Best Martini

An Alameda bartender won first place in the 13th Annual Best Martini in the East Bay Contest, a benefit for Project Second Chance.

Thirteen bartenders went shaker-to-shaker Monday night, at the 13th Annual Best Martini in the East Bay Contest hosted by the Lafayette Park Hotel and Spa.  Melanie Hartman of , 2319 Santa Clara Ave., Alameda won first place from a panel of judges for her Sunburned Russian. Brenna Henricks of Moresi's Chophouse in Clayton won the People's Choice Award for her Cello Meringue.  Proceeds from the event benefited Project Second Chance, the Contra Costa County Library's adult literacy program.
