The "All Together Now" event at the Harbor Bay Club on Saturday will raise funds for music, art and drama in Alameda public schools.

On Father’s Day weekend the will be hosting “All Together Now,” a benefit concert to raise funds for music, art and drama in Alameda public schools.

The concert on Saturday, June 16, at 4 p.m. features the popular Beatles tribute band The Sun Kings and will be on the green adjacent to the bay at the club, 200 Packet Landing Road.

The event is open to the public, with tickets starting at $25 and special family packages available. Advance tickets include a complimentary drink ticket. All proceeds from the event will benefit arts education programs in Alameda K-12 public schools through the local non-profit .

According to Kirk Cowan of the Harbor Bay Club, the concert will include local food, beer and wine available for purchase as well as a raffle, with the grand prize valued at over $4,500.

“All Together Now” is a concept created in 2010 by The Sun Kings bandleader, Drew Harrison, and local Realtor Peter Fletcher. Harrison and Fletcher hope to increase awareness of the importance of arts education in schools and raise funds to support these programs through a series of concerts and events.

In 2010 and 2011, the main “All Together Now” concerts were held in the fall and together have generated about $50,000 for the cause.

The upcoming Harbor Bay Club event is being billed as a kick-off concert for the season of “All Together Now.” Harbor Bay also hosted a kick-off in the summer of 2011.

“It should be an especially fun concert if you’re looking for something to do for Dad that weekend,” said Cowan. “After all, what could be a better Father’s Day gift than an afternoon of Beatles, beer and barbeque!” Except, perhaps, the gift of supporting the arts for Alameda students.
