Please Join Me for a “Garden Day of Service” at Henry Haight Elementary School in Alameda

Join me, along with parents and members of our community, for a day of service to create a school garden and outdoor learning space at Henry Haight Elementary School in Alameda.

Please join me, along with parents and members of our community, for a day of service to create a school garden and outdoor learning space at Henry Haight Elementary School in Alameda on Saturday, Jan 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 00 p.m.

The elementary school is located at 2025 Santa Clara Ave. in Alameda. Access to the school garden is at both the front entrance of Henry Haight Elementary School on Lincoln Avenue near Chestnut Street and the back entrance on Santa Clara Street.

I will be assisting parent volunteers and school administrators in creating the school garden and marking the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, which takes place this year on Jan 16.  Volunteers from the community are encouraged to attend and bring extra gardening tools on the day of the event.  Lunch will be provided to participants starting at 1 p.m.

This project is a part of my “Adopt-A-School” initiative, which promotes volunteerism and community support for local schools.  I believe in supporting local children by bringing the community together to make donations and improvements to area schools, such as at Henry Haight Elementary School.  This will hopefully be the first of many upcoming events at Alameda County schools.

For more information, contact Alex Boskovich at 510-272-6693 or RSVP for the “Garden Day of Service” by Friday, January 13th using the following link (https://sites.google.com/site/haightgardenvolunteer/).

I look forward to seeing you at Henry Haight Elementary School in Alameda on Saturday, January 14th.

Found!!! He followed me into my downstairs neighbor's house. I went to borrow some eggs. My neighborRead More was at work. I didn't know he followed me in, didn't see or hear him, got the eggs and left. I called that brat for over three hours. He raided my neighbor's garbage can and a bachelor nap on his sofa! Yay. I'm glad he's home and safe. Thank you everyone.

Thanks for the info about your experience. I'm starting to hear the same story from about 7 peopleRead More now and I'm sure there are more. Store has been closed all week. Still no sign on the door. At a loss as to what to do to find out what's going on or what to do next.

Good luck with that. I stopped patronizing them a year ago after some shifty practices with my highRead More end items: wouldn't give me a receipt and then my items sat untagged for three weeks. Completely missed the xmas shopping season.

It is really dangerous coming out of the dog park/tennis court parking lot. We never try to turnRead More left coming out of it, always right - and even then you have to be super careful because cars just come speeding down the street.
