Alameda Elks Lodge Blood Drive a Success

Elks' 9/11 Remembrance Blood Drive drew 84 potential donors.

Dear Editor:

“We had 84 potential donors come to the Alameda Elks Lodge 9/11 Remembrance Blood Drive,” said Joanne Alwine, Blood Centers of the Pacific account representative. “We were able to collect 55 pints of whole blood and we had 12 donors who were able to give double red cell platelets.”

I personally want to thank Alameda Patch for their support in promoting our blood drive. We were able to not only meet, but exceed, the collection goals we had set. Alameda Patch was one of the driving forces behind our success.

The Alameda Elks Lodge will host their next semi-annual blood drive on Sunday, March 11, 2012. It will again be held in conjunction with the month facility breakfast. There is always something going on at "The Liveliest Lodge in Elkdom."

Our semi-annual blood drives are just one example of how Elks give back to the community. Are you interested in finding out more about the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks? Check us out at   www.alamedaelks1015.org.
