Alameda Backyard Growers Monthly Meeting: "Fruit Gleaning"

Join us as Alameda Backyard Growers officially kicks off the Alameda Fruit Gleaning Initiative which will bring together residents with abundant fruit trees and ABG members who volunteer to pick unused fruit and drop it off at the food bank.

Hank Leeper, Executive Director of the Alameda Food Bank, will speak about the need in our community and Greg Crump from the San Francisco Department of Public Works will present on the city’s successful Urban Gleaning Program.

Come learn how you can get involved!

ABG meetings are held monthly on second Thursdays and are open to all residents of Alameda and the surrounding area. Membership is free and there are no charges for ABG-sponsored events.

Monthly meetings offer gardeners of all experience levels an opportunity to talk about what's growing in their gardens and exchange gardening tips. Meetings are also a great time to drop off fruit and produce donations for the Alameda Food Bank!
