Holiday Home Tour and More on Saturday, December 8

Holiday Home Tour of five homes, plus gourmet shop, gift boutique, silent auction. Tour tickets include holiday dessert tea.

The weather was just frightful,

But Saturday will be delightful,

The homes are all aglow,

Let us go.  Let us go.  Let us go!

to the Alameda Family Services League Holiday Home Tour.

This year’s homes span 75 years of architecture and showcase the beauty and diversity of island living.  There’s a mid-century home remodeled into a Millennial Beach House to take advantage of its spectacular views.  Two homes are on Alameda’s lagoons, one a traditional serene family home, and the other a former entertainment house for a historic home.  Completing the circle are an early 20th century Craftsman with many original architectural elements intact, and a charming late Victorian cottage.

Tickets include a Holiday Dessert Tea and are $35 in advance, availble online at alamedaholidayhometour.info, or $40 day of the Tour at the Elks Lodge, 2255 Santa Clara Avenue.

There are more than just tickets available at the Elks Lodge Tour Central on Saturday.  You can

  • visit our Gourmet Shop for homemade delicacies, wrapped for gifting;
  • bid on gift baskets, services, dinner and theater tickets and more at the Silent Auction;
  • buy holiday decorations and gifts for everyone on your list, including yourself, at the Holiday Boutique;
  • volunteers will gift-wrap your purchases, too!

Prices for gourmet goodies and boutique items will fit every pocketbook.  Bring the kids to do their holiday shopping.

Tour Central 9 am-4 pm; tours 9:30am-4:30pm, tea @ First Presbyterian 11am-3pm.

For the 42nd year, all proceeds go to Alameda Family Services, www.alamedafs.org.  Changing Lives, Building Community.

If you always wanted a pony for Christmas, this is your chance! We have a sweet brown little horse that eats practically nothing at all in the silent auction. About the size of a large dog, it can also be used to guard your home. You'll have to make your own "Protected by Attack Horse" sign, though. Other items include birthday party, kayaking and biking packages. Or how about Police SWAT training with APD (for the girl or guy who has almost everything). There are wines, dinner certificates, movie and play tickets, designer handbags, and many gift baskets to suit every age, taste and budget.
