The Alameda Point Collaborative has been serving families since 1999 by providing housing and services for formerly homeless families and individuals. APC operates several programs including the Ploughshares Nursery, a commercial nursery founded in 2003, which grows native and drought-tolerant plants and employs APC residents. In 2006, APC founded the Growing Youth Project, which has a community garden and teaches residents about cooking and nutrition. Through Cycles of Change, also founded in 2006, residents repair donated bikes to use and sell.
