Founded in 1948 as the Alameda Historical Society by Fred Croll, in 1951 we became a museum and then in 1983, the official repository for items pertaining to the history of the city.  We offer exhibits on historical room settings, native americans, transportation, city government, old toys, and the former Neptune Beach.  We sell new videos, DVDs and books on Alameda history, plus carry a variety of used items in our Gift Shop.

The Art Gallery has monthly changing exhibits featuring local artists and art groups.

OPEN: W, TH, F and Sun from 1:30 to 4 pm.  Sat 11 to 4.

Our Lecture Series is free to members, $10 for others.  Held in the museum's Art Gallery,the doors open at 6:30 pm with the lecture at 7 pm.  2012 series begins March 29th through September (last Thursdays of each month).

We also operate the Meyers House Museum, 2021 Alameda Avenue.  Situated in a residential neighborhood, it is currently open on the 4th Saturday of each month, from 1 to 4 pm.  Admission is $5.  The family home to renowned county architect Henry H. Meyers and his family for nearly 100 years.  City Monument #26.  Filled with antiques and family pieces on 3 floors, the grounds comprise 3 city lots with beautiful gardens, the office/studio, and an architectural exhibit.
