after dedicating hundreds of hours as a volunteer big dog walker and trainer for incoming canine classes at FAAS (Friends of Alameda Animal Shelter) and witnessing gross negligence, inhumane practices and often unwarranted euthanasia on the part of management, i am stepping down as a volunteer and stepping UP as an advocate for my beloved bully breeds. my goal is to bring awareness to the dogs housed at FAAS whom i saw (and continue to see) ignored for months at a time and continuously passed up as candidates for good homes. these dogs deserve a chance to be rescued. maybe by spotlighting these dogs, the shelter will be forced to ACT and collaborate with its community in getting these incredibly deserving dogs into rescues or safe homes.
