UPDATE: 3 Firefighters Injured While Battling House Fire on Cedar Street

Alameda Fire Department battled a two-alarm blaze on Victorian house fire on the 800 block of Cedar Street.

Three firefighters were injured this afternoon while battling a two-alarm blaze at a Victorian home in Alameda, a fire captain said.

The fire was reported at 12:39 p.m. in the 800 block of Cedar Street at a two-story house, Capt. James Colburn said.

As of 2:25 p.m., the blaze had been contained to the Victorian, and firefighters were still working to get it under control, he said.

Residents were evacuated.

The firefighters' injuries were minor and they were treated at the house, Colburn said.

Alameda, Oakland, and Alameda County fire departments are working the fire, Colburn said.

Fire officials were asking motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area.

A Nixel alert was sent out around 12:50 p.m., warning pedestrians and motorists to avoid the area.
