70th Anniversary Gala and Fundraiser to Celebrate USS Hornet

Join us for a special gala
commemorating the 70th anniversary of the aircraft carrier USS Hornet and 15
years as a leading Bay Area naval and aerospace museum onboard
the Hornet.

The
USS Hornet is a national treasure that participated in three of the greatest
events of the 20th century: World War II and the Apollo 11 and 12 recovery
missions following America's manned space missions to the Moon.


An evening celebration from 6:00pm – 11:00pm will be a fundraising gala

featuring special guest Apollo 12 astronaut Dick Gordon, a seated gourmet

buffet dinner with hosted bar, live & silent auctions, a musical

performance by The Sun Kings (Beatles tribute band), other entertainment, and

All proceeds made from the Gala will benefit
the Education and Museum Department of the USS Hornet Museum. The museum will utilize the funds for carrier
restoration and the development of educational exhibits for Bay Area schools in
order to allow everyone to experience the rich history and promotion of STEM
education.

From 11:00am - 4:00pm, there will be other special, family-friendly events

honoring Hornet crew members over the past decades, as well as the grand

opening of a special anniversary exhibit, “Hornet: Reflections through Time”.
