Lincoln Avenue Salon Robbed at Gunpoint

The robbery took place at Nancy's Salon on Saturday

A group of armed robbers held up Nancy's Salon, 1307-A Lincoln Ave., on Saturday evening, according to Alameda police.

One robber was already inside the salon posing as a customer when three others entered, police reports say. 

One suspect brandished a gun while the others corralled the nine victims in the rear of the salon. The victims were employees, members of their families and possibly a family friend, Alameda Police Department Lt. Jill Ottaviano said.

A female victim was sprayed with a substance — possibly pepper spray — during the robbery, Ottaviano said The woman was treated at a local hospital after the robbery and released.

The robbers took personal items from the victims as well as money from the business before fleeing on foot, the reports said.

Ottaviano said APD investigators are studying surveillance video of the robbery in hopes of identifying the perpetrators.

The salon, near the corner of Lincoln and Sherman Street, offers nail and skin care and waxing.
