Police Log: Stabbing at Scobie's, Door-Busting Burglaries, and Parole/Probation Violation

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log from May 16 to 19. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Thursday, May 16

  • 1:45 p.m.: A report of a person having a weapon on school grounds was reported on the 1200 block of Fernside Boulevard. A person was arrested for having a knife. 
  • 5:33 p.m.: Grand theft was reported on the 1300 block of Marin Village Parkway. A suspect took  personal items from an unlocked storage room and fled.
  • 4:56 p.m.: Child abuse was reported on Lincoln Avenue. During a medical exam, a 7-year-old victim told a witness that her mother "whipped" her with a belt. A lesion, which appeared not to have been caused recently, was located on victim's lower back.
  • 8:10 p.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue. An unknown suspect entered an open garage. Suspect took victims' bicycles without permission and fled the area.
  • 11:54 p.m.: Battery was reported on the 300 block of Maitland Drive.
    During a disturbance, two people were involved in a physical altercation with two security guards. Both of those suspects were positively identified as the responsible parties and were cited and released without incident.
Friday, May 17
  • 12:33 a.m.: A robbery was reported on the 400 block of Camden Road. A suspect approached a victim outside his residence. One suspect brandished a knife at victim and demanded the victim's property. The suspects fled with victim's cash.
  • 7:08 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1300 block of St. Charles Street.
  • 9:15 p.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 1200 block of Coral Reef Place. Suspect forced entry to the front door and took miscellaneous jewelry and fled.
  • 9:46 p.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 300 block of Grand Street. A suspect kicked the front door open, ransacked drawers in bedrooms and stole cash.
Saturday, May 18
  • 12:05 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 2900 block of Lincoln Avenue. 
  • 11:20 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 300 block of Central Avenue. 
  • 8:41 p.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 1800 block of Webster Street. A suspect broke the car window and took contents inside. 
  • 9:07 p.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 200 block of Hollister Avenue. A suspect forced entry into the residence, took loss, and fled.
Sunday, May 19
  • 12:25 a.m.: Assault with a weapon was reported at Scobie's Bar and Grill located at 2431 Central Avenue. During a large fight of 40-50 people in front of Scobie's bar, multiple victims were punched and kicked in the face by several suspects. An additional victim was found across the street from Scobie's who had been stabbed six times in the back. To read a more detailed article on this, click here.
  • 2:52 a.m.: A parole/probation violation was reported on the 1400 block of Park Street. Two people were contacted during a disturbance call and were found to be too intoxicated to care for themselves in public. One was found to be in violation of a court ordered curfew. Both were arrested and were booked at North County Jail.
  • 4:48 a.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 1000 block of Marina Village Parkway. The suspect broke the passenger window to removed the listed loss from the vehicle and fled.
  • 8:17 a.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 1300 block of Marina Village Parkway. Suspect forced entry into vehicle and took loss that was later recovered.
  • 10:29 a.m.: A robbery was reported on the 1100 block of Park Avenue. A suspect took the property of a victim after punching and kicking him.
  • 11:51 a.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the Aughinbaugh Way. A suspect forced entry into vehicle but took no loss.
