Police Log: Assault with Kitchen Knife, Copper Wire Theft, Lots of Stolen Cars

Car thieves had a busy few days in Alameda, with vehicles reported stolen from all over the Island.

Incidents highlighted here were recorded in the Alameda Police Department log Oct. 31-Nov.3. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.
THURSDAY, OCT. 31
Assault — A 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after stabbing someone she was dating twice with a kitchen knife, police said.
Commercial burglary — A burglar cut through an interior security fence at a business in the 2400 block of Lexington Street in an attempt to steal copper wiring.
Grand theft — Three tires and rims were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1800 block of Poggi Street.
Vehicle thefts and recoveries — Vehicles were reported stolen from the 300 block of Grand Street and the 400 block of Buena Vista Avenue. A vehicle stolen in Oakland was located in the 3000 block of Fernside Boulevard.
Petty theft — Someone stole a clay pot from a front yard on Versailles Avenue.
Warrant arrest — A 53-year-old man contacted during a traffic stop on Corpus Christi Road was found to have an outstanding felony arrest warrant.
FRIDAY, NOV. 1
Vandalism — Someone spray-painted a parked vehicle in to 2200 block of San Jose Avenue.
Auto thefts — Vehicles were reported stolen from the 2200 block of Clinton Avenue, the 100 block of Sweet Road and the 1000 block of Taylor Avenue.

SATURDAY, NOV. 2
Vehicle recovery — A vehicle reported stolen in Fremont was located on Heron Court.
Stolen vehicles — Vehicles were stolen from the 2900 block of Lincoln Avenue, the 1000 block of Park Avenue and the 400 block of Santa Clara Avenue and a motorcycle from the 1300 block of Third Street.
Vandalism — A vandal used a fire extinguisher to shatter the rear window of a vehicle parked in the 1700 block of Lincoln Avenue.
Bike theft — Bicycles were stolen from an open garage on Phoenix Lane.

SUNDAY, NOV. 3

Vehicle theft — Vehicles were stolen from the 2300 block of Mariner Square Drive, the 1800 block of Central Avenue, the 200 block of Avington Road and the 2700 block of Fifth Street.

ID theft — An Alameda resident reported that someone used their credit card information to make purchases in San Leandro and Florida.

DUI arrest — A 22-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended or revoked license after a traffic collision near the corner of Santa Clara Avenue and Chestnut Street about 4 p.m.
