Police 'Taking Precautions' Following Threat at Alameda High

The Alameda Police Department is "taking precautions" following a threat to school safety written on a bathroom wall at Alameda High School, an APD spokesperson said.

Lt. Jill Ottaviano said that the APD's school resource officer will be campus on Dec. 11, the day mentioned in the graffiti-like threat, and that extra patrols and school walk-throughs are planned.

She said the threatening message was reported to police on Dec. 5. Alameda High staff have interviewed a number of students about the graffiti, she said.

Alameda High has notified parents of the threat.
